Hello, however you arrived at this page… welcome.
I live and breath photography, which is a difficult trick if you’ve ever tried it, and love the way nature is revealed in all it’s glory when you simply take time to look ar0und.
Feel free to leave a comment, good or bad, it’s always nice to know people are reading my words – preferably enjoining them! Â If you have any questions or pointers, drop me an email… I might even get round to some tutorials if I can put the camera down for 5 minutes!
Current gear includes Canon 1D4, Canon 5d, 17-40mm, 24-105mm, 80-400mm, 50mm, 150mm and 600mm lenses – and a plethora of other bits and pieces such as tripod/flash etc.
Good God! Your photos as spectacular. This from a fellow amateur Canon-wielding photographer. Well done.

Thanks June,
the blog takes up a fair amount of energy each day, along with daily uploads to flickr but I do enjoy it – though obviously not as much as capturing that special photo.
Regards
Andy

Hi Andew,
I commented on your commerant photo on flickr and thought I’d come looking for more! Some really nice shots on here. Could I talk to you a bit more via email about some of these photos. As part of a project I’m on, some of these species are on my list. I’ll explain all that if you email.
Thanks
Bertie

Hi, Andrew. I would like to buy my first “real” camera. I have been fooling around with cheap cameras and getting some wonderful pictures but I need better quality and zoom and…well, I really need someone to help me get started with a more serious approach. My birthday is coming up and I want to invest in a good camera.

Sure, I’ll be more than happy to offer any advice I’ll drop you an email with my contact details and a few questions later this week. Just returned from Kenya and have a photo shoot this weekend so still a bit hectic at the moment.

Hi Andrew,
New to blogging and relatively new to photography – so I started a photoblog to motivate me on both ends. Found yours today and really enjoyed your pics! Hope you’re having a great time in Africa – I’m going later this year so maybe I can pick up some pointers from your experiences.

Hi Scott, you won’t be disappointed with Africa – I had a fantastic time in Kenya – can’t wait to go back. Let me know how I can help on either the photo or blog side, and thanks for the kind words.

Thanks Andrew,
I know you’re a busy guy but if you ever get a chance to drop by my blog, I’d appreciate any comments you might have – especially on the photography side.

Hi Scott,
The only comment I was going to make about your site is now no longer applicable (and is only personal preference anyway). You had the calendar etc at the bottom of the page, I prefer it to one side so you can access it quicker, but looking today I can see it’s there already. Site looks great, and I like your writing style – so keep up the good work.
Regards
Andy

I only dabble in photography, so obviously I’m totally impressed with your skills…especially since your photos are up close and personal…to African wildlife.
admiring…from afar. 🙂

Thanks for the kind words. I was a little frustrated at times that I was too close for the large lens I use – I’d also liked to have gone on foot to stalk the creatures – perhaps next time.

Hi, Came here from viewing your marvellous Big Cat work from Dartmoor Zoo on Flickr. Just wanted to say, ‘breathtaking’ and you have given me a standard to aspire to, despite the fact you are a Canon Man ! ;0) Beautiful work and dead jealous of your fine array of lens equipment! Looking forward to seeing lots more from you, Andrew.
Regards,
Kath Tipping, Ivybridge, Devon.
