Choo Choo!

I think I’ve mentioned before how I’ve started building a new model railway but that I haven’t got very far despite having a lot of what I need to complete the layout, you could say… wait for it Dear Reader… that I’ve run out of Steam… steam… railway… oh nevermind (“That really wasn’t worth the microsecond wait”, Ed). My enthusiasm, however, has been rekindled (no, not in the Amazon way) thanks to an article in a model magazine recently. The document detailed how it was possible, starting without any tools, or equipment to create a fully detailed model railway for only £100, including working locomotive, carriages , trucks as well as the controller.

A number of magazines have already attempted similar projects however when it’s come to the final totalling of the bills, they have tended to be rather creative with their accounting. Where these articles had used only a percentage of a specific item, they only charged for that percentage, however shops aren’t well known for only charging a fraction of the cost based on usage, which makes this article quite unique. My son’s layout is going is going to cost just a little bit more than it did to complete the layout in the magazine, and it might take a bit longer to complete…. I may have bitten off more than I can chew.
