We Bought A Zoo

Not me personally, I wouldn’t mind though I think might get too attached to the animals, no.. the film of that name has been released today in the UK – the film based on the story of Ben Mee, the owner of Dartmoor Zoo. As you know I have a close affinity with the Zoo and whilst I’m not much of a movie goer, I will be finding time to go along and watch the movie on the big screen.

Today also see’s Apple’s latest iPad go on sale in shops around the world and as with other product releases by the Cupertino giant I’m sure people will be clamoring to get their hands on one of the latest tablets – I’m sure there will be a proliferation of posts on Twitter and Facebook throughout the day with people proclaiming their purchase. I might saunter over to the Apple Store at lunch time and see what all the fuss about the Retinal Display is about. Interestingly, this new screen is manufactured by Samsung, Samsung who Apple are currently suing over the similarity in design of the Galaxy tablet to the iPad and who are being sued themselves by Samsung over patent infringement; it seems that depsite their petty squabbles the two companies really do love each other!

Yesterday, was momentous in it’s own smaller, quieter way in that it was my 500th post to this blog. I had little aspiration to a life of words when I first started out writing a blog, and certainly never envisaged reaching my half millennium post but it’s now an integral part of my daily routine whether I have much to say or not. You may have noticed that the blogs of late have been shorter than normal; the winter months seem to have an adverse affect on my creative output, but with the warmer, sunnier days like a flower unfurling in the heat from the sun my artistic nature dormant for so long is waking up.

  1. Congratulations on #500–and on your life of words as well as images.
