Wood Duck, originally uploaded by

I do like it when the wildlife performs as required infrequent as it may be, though I do seem to have acquired a number of these types of photos over the last couple of years. It may have something to do with the sound of the rapid fire of my 1D4 that grabs the birds’ attention, either that or the ridiculously large lens I take these photos which intrigues the birds and the beasties enough for them to want a closer look. I’ve mentioned before how I’ve had three canvases printed of the big cats from Dartmoor Zoo, in fact I’ve posted a photo on this blog showing them – perhaps a series of these type of images could provide an amusing little gallery.

* This is taken from a cartoon from the 1980s, Count Duckula and was a parody of the classic “Who’s On First” by Abbot and Costello. You can judge for yourself here.

  1. great shot and a beautiful duck.
