Hopelessly Devoted To You!

I have an addiction, Dear Reader, which I feel I should share, as they say it’s the first step on the road to recovery. I’ve had it for a long time, and there’s no external visible manifestation of this addiction, well.. not at the time.. but later pieces of shiny paper start to develop images of the focus of my addition on.. yes, Dear Reader.. Cheetah’s – I can’t stop photographing them. Still, there are worse things to be addicted to… it could be.. zebra or…. meerkats (shudder).

The light at the end of the day* was, once again, perfect for photographing the mother and her five offspring. The big cats had been waiting to be fed,and were pacing around their enclosure in anticipation. Occasionally they would hop up on to a rock dais placed in front of the viewing area which makes for a perfect photo opportunity. The key to getting a good photograph is position yourself at a height that will bring the distant treeline into frame rather than the sky as obviously the brighter background will cause the subject to be under exposed (though in some cases, this can be rather effective – the swan photo being a case in point).

After yesterday’s rather expansive blog, I’ll let you off early today; there’s still 32 days left before I complete my New Years Resolution – and with the finishing line in sight, I’m feeling quiet buoyant about completing the challenge. More over, I’ve started to think about converting it to a book again, and I’ve come up with a title for the book… it’s pretty obvious but I think quite fitting “365”. On that note, I’ll big you adieu.
