The return of the real thing!

DV3E1338

A bit like a TV programme being recorded months in advance of it’s broadcast, there is no way of knowing what will have happened, how many photographs etc I will have taken on my Kenya trip (did I mention I was going?). As I sit in my office, it still hasn’t registered that in12 hours I’ll be on my way – with the sun beaming down on me, all I want to do is go out and take more photos – this habit of mine can be such a curse at times (well, it makes other people curse anyway).

My next project is the children’s football squad team photo; which will only be 3 days way. Perhaps I should have tested all the equipment before leaving for Mombasa, I will now need to try to get the photos I want with only a couple of days practise. Nothing like pressure to galvanise the creative process. The idea it to have groups of 3, 4 or 5 of the squad grouped together wearing their team kit with a prop such as a ball, flag etc. The image will be hi-key, you know the type of photo I mean, one where the background is all white so all you get is the subject shown. I’ll then combine a number of these photos to produce a panorama of the whole team – again all on a white back ground. That’s the theory at least.

I’ve also got a date for the exhibition, luckily it falls a couple of weeks after the previously mentioned project. Luckily I’m all ready for this, and only need to take the photos and arrange them in the venue – I should really go through them now and make a note of what I want where, but perhaps that can wait.

Perhaps I will have posted an image or two on Flickr by the time you read this. I might even have written an extra couple of blog entries or two. Only time will tell.
