Gerbera, originally uploaded by andyskelton.
I’ve been threatening to photograph the rather impressive gerbera on our kitchen window sill for months now. I missed the chance to photograph the original blooms, these having withered away; however they were then replaced with even more attractive seed heads.
After several weeks two new flower heads appeared and today, I finally manage to take the plant out into the garden to photograph. Despite spending ten minutes or so, I was generally unhappy with the resultant shots with the exception of this image.
I think I’ve figured out the issue. I think there’s a patch in the back garden that negates any photographic skill. The front flower beds on the other hand seem to have an over abundance in this capability so guess I’ll have to take the flowers out front in future!
This one is definitely a keeper! Great shot.
