Small Skipper

Small Skipper, originally uploaded by andyskelton.

In the ten minutes standing out by the lavender at home, I managed to record 6 variety of butterflies, but sadly no reappearance of the Hummingbird Hawkmoth… as of yet.

Of all the varieties, the Small Skipper continues to be the most relaxed with a large lens pointing at it.

All photos on the blog are straight from the camera and only passed through a small program that watermarks the photo – however the Small Skipper looks like it’s been over sharpened, either that or it’s been overdoing the hair gel.

  1. Great shot! Great focus on the head. The butterfly always makes a great subject for any shot.
