My Life In Orange

Ladybird, originally uploaded by andyskelton.

Taking photos round the garden on an incredibly sunny day, I happened across a very amenable little ladybird which I managed to snap for a few minutes, a series of which are visible on the right (for larger images, click on my Flickr link).

Taking the photo was technically a little tricky, mostly trying to keep the ladybird in focus and minimising camera wobble, as I was using a sigma 150mm macro lens coupled with a 2x extender and a macro tube, which definitely needs a tripod and even then with manual focus can be a bit tricky.

The lavender is still looking wonderful and I’m sure I’ll be taking more in the forthcoming weeks.
